Spectrum Staff Food Drive

A huge shout out is in order for the Spectrum Staff. We held an internal food drive and the results were amazing. The team here works hard and gives back harder. We appreciate every employee who brought something in and donated food .  You were able to help fill the belly of someone who wasn’t sure where their next meal would come.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr - Day of Service

A day off turned into a day of service for the Spectrum Spirit Team and there families. On Martin Luther King Jr day we partnered with the Christian St YMCA to make blessing bags for the less fortunate. Spectrum also donated nearly 1000 toiletries.

Spectrum Blood drive

For National Blood Donor month Spectrum teamed up with the American Red Cross for a blood drive.With the unity of the community and the staff were were able to get enough units to  save an estimated of 48 lives .

Pink Goes Red Heart Health Event

Spreading awareness and wellness for National Heart Health Month with the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated at the Pink Goes Red event. Our very own Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joanne Brice, connected with a group of individuals seeking more information on heart health and delivered an informative presentation. Spectrum Medical Assistants showed out and conducted blood pressure screenings to promote overall well-being! We were glad we were apart of an event that was such a great way to inform and inspire better health practices.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day

Spectrum spent a beautiful weekend at Christian St YMCA for Healthy Kids Day in the park, spreading awareness on health and dental care with our CMO and CDO to support our community's journey towards wellness. empowering these kids and families in South Philadelphia to lead healthy, vibrant lives together!

Philadelphia Corporation of Aging Health Fair

Spectrum Participated in the PCA (Philadelphia Corporation for Aging) health fair last Friday. Calling it an afternoon of health and happiness is an understatement. The energy in the room was truly lifted with karaoke and art. We were glad to be able to bridge the gap between the members to have access to our World-class healthcare experience right around the corner. Today is National Senior Health and Fitness day. We hope all of you get out this holiday weekend and continue to live healthy and happy lives.

Spectrum visits the Capitol

Spectrum proudly Stands outside the PA State Capitol building in Harrisburg ready to advocate on behalf of community health centers like Spectrum for the PACHC (Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers) Advocacy Day. https://pachc.org/advocacy

Veronica Hill Milbourne, Dr. Myra Rutland and Theresa Moran met with political officials and staff of State Senator Vincent Hughes and many PA House Representatives. Spectrum strong we continue to push for the support we need to support our communities.

Mens Health Month Prostate Cancer Information Session

Spectrum was invited to be apart of a spectacular community center event right in our West Philadelphia neighborhood. We were graced with a panel of four male health professionals who answered questions regarding prostate cancer. Men and women alike came and left with knowledge that should be shared to all the men in our lives. This month is mens health month we were glad to be able to show the community Spectrum is a health home for everyone especially any men looking for a screening or local second opinion.

YMCA Juneteenth Celebration

Spectrum was invited to go to the Christian street YMCA and give blood pressure screenings to be a health resource to celebrate Juneteenth Weekend. We had a block party inside and it was a truly fun day. We hope we were able to help everyone looking for a new world-class healthcare home. Thank you to the Y for inviting us and thank you to every one who made it out and helped make this first Juneteenth celebration spectacular.

Pillars of Health Class Series

Spectrum hosted a six week educational series shedding light on the pillars of health. Our very own Dr. Akilah Bates and Behavioral Health Consultant Hilary Reichlin collaborated and created a hands on educational experience for the people of the community about 6 health topics. The topics were curating meaningful relationships and the impact of communal melas, getting proper restorative sleep, the reduction of toxins and stress management, good nutrition skills, time in nature (as seen below) and exercise and physical activity. A special thank you to our partner Get Fresh Daily and everyone who participated in the series.

Vine Memorial Baptist Church Health Fair

Spectrum had an amazing time at the Vine Memorial Baptist Church Health Fair. We were able to provide blood pressure screenings, health resources, and awesome giveaways to all the lovely church members. It was such a blast connecting with everyone and we had a successful day in the community. Thank you to everyone who visited the table and supported.

NHCW Agricultural Workers day

Today we’re celebrating Agricultural Worker Health Center Day and showing our appreciation for the hardworking farmers who help feed our communities. Spectrum is committed to bridging the gap on food insecurities and providing access to healthy foods for all. A big thank you to the Food Trust organization for their support in today’s cooking demonstrations, fresh produce, and fun smoothie bike! Thank you all for making a difference in our community.

children's health day

Spectrum hosted our Children’s Health Day and it was a blast! We had a bounce house, games, trivia, and face painting for the kiddos. A big thank you to everyone who came out, ate with us, danced with us, and participated in the fun. Congratulations to all the winners who received giveaways our new Spectrum book bags filled with supplies and fruit and vegetable baskets. We had such a great time and can’t wait for the next event!
